World Scout Jamboree Participant Application – Now Open!

Date: 7th Mar 2026 Author: Jon Nutten

We’re excited to share that applications are now open for young people from South Ribble District Scouts to take part in the 26th World Scout Jamboree, taking place in Gdańsk, Poland in summer 2027.

The World Scout Jamboree is one of the world’s largest youth events. It brings together thousands of Scouts from across the globe. Held every four years since 1920, the Jamboree lets young people share cultures, make international friendships, and take part in an unforgettable programme of activities.

Participants from South Ribble will join the West Lancashire Scouts Jamboree Unit, representing our district as part of the UK Contingent travelling to Poland.

Represent South Ribble

We encourage anyone who is eligible to apply to be one of the five young people representing South Ribble District Scouts at the Jamboree, joining 36 young people from West Lancashire Scouts who will form the West Lancs Jamboree Unit.

Even if you’re not completely sure, we’d still encourage you to apply. Being a Scout is all about recognising those butterflies, taking a deep breath, and going for it.

Event Dates: 30 July – 8 August 2027
Location: Gdańsk, Poland
Participants: To be a Jamboree youth participant, you must be:

  • Born between 30 July 2009 and 30 July 2013
  • A Scout or Explorer Scout in South Ribble

A once-in-a-lifetime experience

From adventurous activities and cultural exchanges to global campfires and lifelong friendships, the Jamboree is about discovering the world and your place in it.

For those selected, the journey begins long before the event itself, with preparation camps and opportunities to get to know the rest of the unit before travelling together to Poland in 2027.

If you’re ready for the adventure of a lifetime, we’d love to see your application.

We know that dreams come true when we work together and now we’re pleased to announce that participant applications are Now Open! Applications for all young people close on 31st March 2026.

Don’t just watch the world—be part of it! Apply today and let your story begin.
