Find out about the training for your role or learn how you can help others through their training programme. Volunteers are the heart of the Scouts and we want you to get every bit as much out of it as you put in.

Adult Training

We know that Scouting is not only about young people, but also about the development of our volunteers. To support Scout volunteers, you are required to complete a training programme made up of mandatory, role-specific, and ongoing learning.

The training programme builds on your existing skills and knowledge and some elements count towards externally-recognised awards.

Module 10: First Aid

This module aims to cover the skills and knowledge necessary to enable adults to manage an incident and provide basic first aid. Due to the current pandemic. We are able to offer a The First Response blended learning approach. This course is designed to be completed as an online module followed by a face to face practical session.

Safeguarding and Safety Training

Doing things safely is fundamental to everything we do in Scouts, and our responsibilities are detailed within our Policy, Organisation and Rules.

Trustee Induction

Trustee Introduction is great training for all adults involved in Executive Committees at Scouts. All volunteers who are part of an Executive Committee in Scouts need to complete this training, in addition to Safeguarding, Safety, and GDPR Training is a mandatory modules for all appointments.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
