Festive Message from Martin Sumner – District Chair

They say time flies when you are having fun, well I can’t believe that my DBS is due for renewal already. This means I have almost done 5 years as a Trustee – most of them as the District Chair. During this time, I have attended a number of Group AGMs and, what are now, Group Trustee Board meetings although not at all Groups. I am not looking to attend every meeting at every Group, however I would like to try and attend a meeting at each Group over the next twelve months. To help with this please can each Trustee Board add me to their distribution list for meetings

It is part of my role as District Chair to support effective governance and share good practice across the Groups of the District, and to facilitate this I should, (with the help of the District Treasurer when we appoint one), create a support network amongst the Group Chairs and Group Treasurers of the District. Part of this process is a review of Sponsorship Agreements which should happen every 5 years, therefore in the New Year I will be contacting Sponsored Groups to discuss their agreements.
