A record 23 Top Awards at Brindle St. Josephs Scout Group

We love a great news story! Young people at Brindle St. Josephs Scout Group have enjoyed a busy 12 months clocking 23 Top Awards through all the sections! Showing the drive, determination, and resilience of our young people.

They may have been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic! The lockdowns have been rough on lots of us! But we are incredibly proud to share the following success:

Beavers – Chief Scouts Bronze Award  – This is the highest award a Beaver can earn! To get their hands on one, young people needed complete all the Challenge Awards, as well as any four Activity Badges of their choice (including Staged Activity Badges).

Cubs- Chief Scouts Silver Award – This is the highest award a Cub can earn! To complete it, they need to earn six Activity or Staged Activity Badges of their choice, as well as all seven of the Challenge Awards.

James Mycock has made history by being the youngest ever Cub Scout to earn his Chief Scout Silver Award at the group!

Scouts – Chief Scouts Gold Award – This is the highest award a Scout can earn! To complete it, they need to complete all nine of the Challenge Awards, plus six Activity badges.

What’s the Challenge Awards? – Challenge Awards are all about stepping outside your comfort zone. Try out something you wouldn’t normally be interested in. Take the lead on something that scares you. Along the way, you’ll unlock hidden talents and stand tall.

Lastly, know of this is possible without the amazing volunteers and supporters at Brindle St. Josephs Scout Group. You all continue to show great resilience in what has been a very difficult time and enabled our young people to learn valuable skills for life! #ThankYou #GoodForYou

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
