Be the Spark Behind Unforgettable Scout Events in South Ribble!

Date: 1st Feb 2026 Author: Jon Nutten

Are you someone who loves bringing people together, enjoys planning experiences that excite and inspire, and believes that great events help create lifelong memories? Then we might have the perfect volunteer role for you!

South Ribble District Scouts is looking for an Events Team Lead to help shape, lead, and grow the amazing events that make our Scouting community come alive.

From exciting activities for young people to community gatherings that bring families and volunteers together, our events are at the heart of what we do. They give young people opportunities to learn new skills, build confidence, make friends and feel proud of what they’ve achieved—exactly the kind of experiences that help them gain Skills for Life

Why This Role Matters

Great Scout events don’t just happen, they’re made by passionate volunteers who care about creating meaningful experiences. As Events Team Lead, you’ll be at the heart of making that happen by:

  • Leading and supporting a fantastic team of volunteers to deliver safe, fun, inclusive, and memorable events.
  • Bringing ideas to life—from community celebrations and seasonal activities to larger gatherings that bring Scouting together.
  • Coordinating planning, logistics and volunteer roles so everything runs smoothly.
  • Connecting with groups across South Ribble to share best practice and make sure every event reflects the values of Scouts.
  • Inspiring young people and adults alike to be part of something positive and exciting.

Volunteers are at the heart of every great Scout event. As Events Team Lead, you’ll be the person helping that collective volunteer energy come together to create something truly special.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be an expert event planner, just someone who:

  • Loves creating amazing experiences for young people
  • Enjoys motivating and supporting others
  • Is organised, creative and ready to problem-solve
  • Believes in teamwork and community impact

Whether you’ve run events before or are looking to try something new, this role is flexible, enjoyable and incredibly rewarding. You’ll be supported by the District leadership and connected with Scouts UK resources to help your events thrive.

Make a Real Difference

From SUMMIT to seasonal celebrations, and everything in between, the right Events Team Lead will help South Ribble Scouts continue to deliver events that our members look forward to year after year. Your leadership could be the reason a young person tries something new, learns a new skill, or makes a friend for life.
