James steps up as Group Lead Volunteer at Brindle St. Joseph’s Scouts.

Date: 22nd May 2025 Author: Jon Nutten

We’re excited to welcome James Park as the new Group Lead Volunteer at Brindle St. Joseph’s Scouts! James is stepping into the role of supporting the fantastic team of adult volunteers who are already delivering skills for life to young people across the Beavers (6-8), Cubs (8-10.5), and Scouts (10.5-14).

Originally from Blackpool and now settled in the area with his wife Trudy, who has been a valued volunteer within the group for a number of years, and their four daughters (aged 23, 16, 14, and 9), James brings a wealth of professional and volunteering experience. In his day job, he’s a Sales Director at Dell Technologies, leading a global team of 21 people supporting some of the company’s largest corporate customers. Over his 16 years at Dell, he’s held a range of leadership, technical, and sales roles—skills that will no doubt prove valuable in his new volunteer role.

Outside of work, James is always on the move—literally! He’s a keen motorcyclist with two bikes in the garage, and he enjoys swimming, travelling, and making the most of family time. He’s no stranger to volunteering, having previously given his time to St John Ambulance and North West Blood Bikes.

Now, he’s looking forward to helping shape the future of Scouting at Brindle St. Joseph’s.

James, said: “It’s a real privilege to join such a dedicated and inspiring team of volunteers. I’m looking forward to supporting the leaders and helping young people grow in confidence, learn new skills, and have incredible adventures.”

June, District Lead Volunteer, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome James on board. His leadership experience and enthusiasm for making a difference will be a real asset to the group.”

James takes on the role at an exciting time, with more young people than ever joining Scouting across South Ribble—and more adult volunteers stepping forward to make it all happen.
