Introducing our new 14-24 Team Leader, Stuart to the team

Date: 4th Jan 2025 Author: Jon Nutten

Welcome Stuart Robinson as Our New 14-24 Team Leader We’re excited to announce that Stuart Robinson has been appointed our new 14-24 Team Leader. Stuart brings a wealth of experience and passion for empowering young people to this important role, and we can’t wait to see the incredible impact he’ll have on our Scouts aged 14-24.

Driving Forward Opportunities for 14-24-Year-Olds

In this role, Stuart will lead the 14-24 team, working with Explorer Scouts, Scout Network, and their leaders to ensure our older young people have the best possible experience in Scouting. His focus will include supporting our volunteers, fostering a culture of inclusion, and championing opportunities for personal growth, adventure, and leadership development.

“Scouting is all about preparing young people with skills for life, and the 14-24 age range is such a critical time for growth and exploration,” Stuart said. “I’m thrilled to take on this role and work with our incredible volunteers to create even more opportunities for our young people to thrive.”

A Strong Track Record in Scouting

Stuart has been involved in Scouting for many years. He has held various leadership roles at the local level. His dedication to empowering young people to take the lead and make a difference in their communities has been a hallmark of his Scouting journey.

In his new position, Stuart will also focus on:

  • Supporting Explorer Scout Units and Scout Network members to take on new challenges.
  • Strengthening the volunteer base to ensure young people have access to inspiring role models and mentors.
  • Promoting the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Top Awards, and international opportunities to help young people broaden their horizons.

What This Means for Our 14-24 Team

With Stuart at the helm, we’re confident that our 14-24 provision will continue to grow and thrive. One of our biggest successes has been the continued growth of our Explorer Scout Units under Rik Whittaker. Seeing how this exciting programme makes a difference for our young people has been inspiring. Stuart’s leadership will help ensure that every young person has the chance to develop skills for life, make lifelong friends, and contribute to a better world.

We’re also committed to supporting our amazing volunteers. Stuart will work closely with leaders and teams to reduce barriers, streamline processes, and make volunteering with this age group as rewarding as possible.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
