Be Part of Shaping the Future — Join South Ribble Scouts’ Programme Team!!
Are you passionate about creating progressive, engaging, and challenging opportunities for young people and adults? Do you want to be part of a team that enables others to grow, learn, and gain valuable Skills for Life?
South Ribble Scouts is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our District Programme Team — a group of people committed to supporting and inspiring Scouting across the borough. Together, we help deliver high‑quality, varied, and exciting programme experiences that make a real difference to young people and adult volunteers alike.

We’ve structured our Programme Team around three key areas, each offering meaningful ways to contribute:
Events Team — Create Memorable Experiences
From district‑wide activity days and celebrations to competitions and collaborative events, the Events Team helps bring Scouts together and create moments that matter.
If you enjoy planning inclusive, creative, and engaging experiences that draw young people out of their comfort zones and build community, this team is for you. Whether it’s logistics, programming, or innovation — your ideas can help shape memorable opportunities across South Ribble.
Programme Support Team — Inspire and Enable Leaders
The Programme Support Team plays a vital role in enabling sections to deliver challenging, progressive, and varied programmes. From sharing resources and badge pathways to helping leaders bring fresh ideas to life, this team supports the heartbeat of Scouting.
Roles might include:
- Supporting programme planning and development
- Curating activity ideas and resources
- Encouraging innovation across sections
If you love helping others be their best and enjoy seeing ideas come to life, this team offers a meaningful way to contribute.
Adventure Team — Enable Outdoor Achievement
The Adventure Team ensures young people have access to safe, inspiring, and exciting outdoor activities. Including supporting sections with Nights Away planning, permits, training, and adventure enablement — helping Scouts experience challenges that build resilience, confidence, and independence.
Whether you have outdoor experience or are keen to learn, this team is about enabling others to discover the outdoors, supported by training, expertise, and a shared enthusiasm for adventure.
Why Join the District Programme Team?
Volunteering with the Programme Team means being part of something bigger — it’s about:
- Inspiring young people and adults to aim higher
- Being part of a supportive, collaborative team
- Helping deliver progressive, challenging, and fun opportunities
- Making a lasting impact in your community
Scouting is at its best when it’s varied, vibrant, and aspirational. By joining the Programme Team, you’ll help ensure South Ribble Scouts continues to offer engaging and meaningful activities that reflect the very best of the Scouts UK programme.
You don’t need to be a long‑serving Scout volunteer to get involved — just enthusiasm, a willingness to contribute, and a belief in the power of positive experiences to shape young lives.
“Being part of our District Programme Team means helping others to do more, learn more, and be more. It’s an opportunity to make a real difference in young lives, through supportive, challenging and exciting Scouting experiences.”
