SUMMIT Is Back: Connecting Leaders, Sharing Ideas and Inspiring Great Scouting

We’re really pleased to be bringing back SUMMIT, South Ribble District Scouts’ all-leaders event, returning in February.

SUMMIT is designed to be interactive, welcoming and practical — not a sit-down meeting. It’s about bringing volunteers together to share ideas, pick up inspiration, and connect with others across the District, all while keeping the focus firmly on delivering great Scouting for young people.

What Is SUMMIT?

SUMMIT is a space for leaders from across South Ribble to come together, whether you’re new to your role or have years of experience. It’s a chance to:

• Share what’s working well in your section or group
• Discover new programme ideas to take back to meetings
• Hear the latest updates from the District
• Connect with other volunteers and build support networks

It’s informal, friendly and built around conversation, collaboration and practical takeaways.

What to Expect on the Night

Rather than rows of chairs and long presentations, SUMMIT will feature a mix of activities and spaces designed to let you move around, dip in and out, and focus on what’s most useful to you.

You can expect:

• Programme inspiration stalls with ideas you can run straight away
• District update points, sharing what’s coming up and how to get involved
• Support and “handy” stalls, covering training, admin, events and resources
• Opportunities to chat, ask questions and share ideas with fellow leaders

Whether you stay for the whole event or drop into specific areas, there’s something for everyone.

Sharing and Learning From Each Other

One of the best things about Scouting is the knowledge and experience our volunteers bring. SUMMIT is designed to make the most of that — creating opportunities to learn from each other, swap ideas, and pick up tips that make weekly meetings easier and more enjoyable.

From programme planning to volunteer support, SUMMIT is about working together to strengthen Scouting across South Ribble.
