World Scout Jamboree Participant Application – Now Open!

Date: 29th Dec 2021 Author: Jon Nutten

It’s time to roar! If you were born between 22 July 2005 – 31 July 2009 and are open to all scouts and explorers of qualifying age, then you are eligible for the most important Scout camp there is… The World Scout Jamboree.  In Summer 2023 more than 40,000 Scouts from all over the world will gather in Korea for the 25th World Scout Jamboree.

We encourage anyone who is eligible to attend the Jamboree to apply to be one of the FIVE young people that represent South Ribble District Scouts at the Jamboree, part of 30 young people from West Lancs Scouts that make up Unit 55. Even if you aren’t sure or 100% certain it’s for you. Remember being a Scout is all about acknowledging the butterflies, taking a deep breath, and going for it!

We know that dreams come true when we work together and now we’re pleased to announce that participant applications are Now Open! Applications for all young people close on Sunday 30th January 2022 at 11pm.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
