Sign up for Scotland 2021 – Sea Kayaking The West Coast

Date: 9th Jan 2021 Author: Jon Nutten

Fancy taking part in a sea kayaking trip to the West Coast of Scotland?

The trip is open to all members of West Lancs who will be over 16 on 18th July 2021. Our plan is to offer the opportunity to experience sea kayaking around part of the West Coast of Scotland during the summer of 2021, although the final destination will depend on weather forecasts at the time of the trip. The trip will last around 12 days including to and from Scotland. Once we have packed our kayaks, we will be wild camping to get the most out of the beautiful area we are travelling through. You will therefore need to have an interest in kayaking and a willingness/ability to camp off the beaten track.

The anticipated cost is no more than £550 per person and this will include a number of training opportunities to ensure that everyone is ready for and enjoys the trip once we head for Scotland. The cost also includes transport to all training and Scotland, plus the food you will need whilst training and on the trip. Applications are open to both Explorers and Network.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
