It’s Trustees’ Week; and we just wanted to say thank you.

Date: 2nd Nov 2021 Author: Jon Nutten

Across South Ribble Scouts, each of our Groups are supported by an Executive Committee. Members of these committees are Trustees of their relevant charitable entity, through which we deliver life-changing skills for life.

Our Trustees work tirelessly to ensure we’re able to operate effectively, that our resources are used appropriately, our premises the best they can be, that we have the necessary funding to deliver today, and the plans to secure bright futures for years to come. The governance provided by our Executive Committees is most effective when diverse groups of Trustees come together to combine a range of skills, experiences, and perspectives, in a supportive environment.

We can’t thank all our Trustees enough for the important work they do.

About Trustees’ Week

Now in its 11th year, Trustees’ Week is a celebration of the great work you do. It is the time of year when we come together to mark the achievements of the UK’s one million trustees. This is an opportunity to use the wide range of guidance, resources, and online training to develop your skills, make new connections with other trustees and share your achievements more widely.

Our purpose:

  • to celebrate the time, commitment, skills, and experience you bring to charities
  • offer you an online, ‘one-stop shop’ where you can find training and a host of essential guidance and other resources

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
