Clap for Carers

Date: 11th Jun 2020 Author: Scout Websites

Normally for St George’s day we would be coming together in a town centre and celebrating Scouting and showing off to the world how cool, relevant and exciting we are. Like everything else in 2020 this one was going to be different. On Thursday 23rd April Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, and Adults from across the District were seen on their doorsteps, in their gardens and on their balconies showing that South Ribble Scouts support our NHS and Keyworkers on the frontline.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
