West Lancs Scouts – Community Heroes Awards

Date: 21st February 2021 Location: Online Sections: Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Scout Network, Adult Volunteer, Young Leader

In the last 12 months, we’ve all faced some tough times in what has been a very challenging environment.

Whilst we’ve not been able to meet as much as we would like – or sometimes even at all – there have been some amazing examples of members of West Lancashire Scouts continuing to live Scouting values by supporting their local communities through a time of difficulty.

At this event, the County will be recognising these individuals as well as paying tribute in general to all our volunteers who have kept Scouting going .

We’re encouraging all adult volunteers to do two things;

1) Join us online for the event and help us to recognise our awardees and to celebrate Scouting in West Lancashire. Please share the registration link.

2) Nominate any individuals you feel have demonstrated a focus and support for their local communities.

Nominations close on 5th February and the nomination form can be found by clicking on thisĀ link

On the night, as well as presenting the awards, we’ll be hearing from a number of County and National Association Scouters who will give their reflections on the awardees, our ongoing achievements as a County and what the future might hold.

It will be a celebration of Scouting – we look forward to seeing you there!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
